Watching my first cat struggle was heartbreaking. At just three months old, he came to us already fighting a skin infection, but that was only the beginning. It was a cycle of constant shedding, bald patches, and frightening immunity crashes. When the vets told me he had barely 'pushed through', I knew something had to change.
While many factors were at play, I realised that nutrition was the missing foundation. But the reality was a challenge: my adult cat is a notoriously picky eater. Even after seeing the radical transformation in my four kittens, who thrived instantly on a biologically appropriate diet, I had to navigate the patience and precision required to help a sensitive adult cat accept better nutrition.
He doesn't eat just anything, and he doesn't settle for 'good enough'. It was his discernment, combined with the kittens' vitality, that forced me to refine my standards. I realised that if I couldn’t find a food that met the biological needs of my kittens and the high standards of my pickiest eater, I had to create it myself
